Airport Metro Connector Transit Station & LAX Automated People Mover Tour

On Monday, December 11th, COMTO SoCal, in collaboration with Los Angeles World Airports and Los Angeles Metro, hosted an enlightening behind-the-scenes tour of the Airport Metro Connector Transit Station (AMC) and the LAX Automated People Mover (APM). This special event provided a firsthand look at the cutting-edge project shaping the future of transportation in Los Angeles, CA.

Nestled at Aviation Blvd/96th Street, attendees were treated to an in-person experience, gaining insights into the development of the state-of-the-art transit system.

The APM, a remarkable 2.25-mile elevated guideway train system, is set to seamlessly transport passengers between LAX and the Airport Metro Connector Station, the Intermodal Transportation Facility-West, and a new Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility. The AMC, as the ninth station along the K (Crenshaw/LAX) Line, will directly link with the APM. Notably, the AMC station boasts a platform for accessing Metro light rail trains, a bike hub, and a sprawling 16-bay bus plaza serving Metro and other municipal bus operators, including Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Culver City Bus, Torrance Transit, GTrans (Gardena), and Beach Cities Transit.

The event was a tremendous success, offering participants an up-close encounter with the remarkable advancements in transportation technology. We appreciate the enthusiastic participation from our members. Stay tuned for more exciting events in the future!
