For the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. She has over 40 years’ experience working in the transportation industry. Her career at Southern California Rapid Transit District (SCRTD) (which later became Metro) began as a Bus Operator in 1978. She was promoted to Division Dispatcher in 1980. In 1989, she became an Assistant Transportation Manager at Division 7 and in 1998 she was promoted to Transportation Manager at Division 2. In April of 2014 she was promoted to her current position of Service Operations Superintendent, Bus Operations.
Diane is responsible for oversight of seven Metro Transportation divisions, with a combined operating budget over $360 million and 2800 employees. Diane is focused on ensuring that Bus Operators, Transit Operations Supervisors (TOS), Managers and Directors have the training required to promote to next level. Diane and her counterparts have worked diligently with other Metro departments to develop an 18 module comprehensive training program for Transportation Managers and Pre-TOS course for Bus Operators.
Diane has a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and a Master’s degree in Leadership & Management with a concentration in Organizational Development, from the University of La Verne. She is a graduate of the 2015 California Connections leadership program which focused on cross-sector leadership, while building perspective on statewide trends and understanding local issues in California’s five mega-regions.
Diane serves as the Treasurer and Membership Chair for the Southern California Regional Chapter of COMTO. She is a member of the Southern California Leadership Network Alumni Association, Metro’s African American Employee Association and Toastmaster’s Masters International. In addition, she was recently featured in Metro’s Workforce Initiative Now-Los Angeles (WIN-LA) video and was a member the 2017 Metro/SMART Union labor negotiation team.
Diane has a daughter and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, working in her garden, running half marathons and writing poetry.
